Automatically Follow TiltFolio in Your Brokerage Account
Today, I’m excited to announce that TiltFolio has been approved as a Pilot on Autopilot, allowing eligible US investors to automatically follow TiltFolio’s portfolio directly within their own brokerage accounts.
When I launched TiltFolio just over a year ago, I described the newsletter as only the first step. My long-term vision was always to build an actual investment product, not simply another investment newsletter.
Today marks the beginning of that transition.
From Newsletter to Investment Product
Launching a newsletter was the simplest way to bring TiltFolio to market. It allowed me to publish the systems’ monthly allocations, establish a live performance record, and demonstrate that the strategies behave in real time as they did in historical testing.
Today, TiltFolio has completed its first full year of live performance.
Equity curve generated from the Performance page
One year is far too short to draw definitive conclusions about any investment strategy, but it is enough to demonstrate something important: the systems behave in live markets as expected. That’s a meaningful step beyond a historical backtest, which always carries the risk of overfitting or curve-fitting.
From the beginning, I never viewed the newsletter as the final destination. The real goal was always to make systematic investing easier to implement.
Why I Built TiltFolio
I originally built TiltFolio for myself because I couldn’t find an investment approach that combined broad diversification, systematic decision-making, and strong long-term risk-adjusted returns.
Many investment advisors charge substantial fees to manage portfolios that closely resemble a traditional 60/40 allocation. Others rely heavily on discretionary decisions that inevitably become influenced by emotion.
Having worked in the investment industry myself, I learned that professionals are just as vulnerable to fear, greed, and overconfidence as individual investors.
That realization is what led me to systematic investing.
Rather than asking what should happen next, TiltFolio simply responds to what markets are actually doing. Every allocation is determined by predefined rules rather than opinion, emotion, or headlines.
The Hardest Part of Systematic Investing
Ironically, following a systematic strategy is often much harder than designing one.
Rebalancing a portfolio each month only takes a few minutes. The difficult part is continuing to follow the system during periods when it isn’t working particularly well.
Every trend-following strategy experiences periods of whipsaw, times when markets lack sustained trends and positions change frequently without producing strong returns. These periods can be frustrating, and they’re often when investors abandon a perfectly sound process.
Unfortunately, this is exactly the wrong time to lose discipline.
Successful systematic investing depends less on making brilliant predictions than on consistently following a process through both good periods and bad. In practice, that’s much easier said than done.
Why Autopilot Matters
This is exactly why I’m so excited about today’s announcement.
Rather than receiving TiltFolio’s monthly allocations and placing trades yourself, eligible investors can now connect their brokerage account to Autopilot and have their portfolio automatically mirror TiltFolio’s recommendations.
Your investments remain in your own brokerage account. You retain control of your capital at all times. Autopilot simply executes the portfolio changes on your behalf after you’ve authorized the connection.
By removing the need to manually place trades each month, automation also removes much of the emotional friction that causes investors to second-guess systematic strategies.
Instead of wondering whether to follow the latest signal, the process simply continues exactly as designed.
Why Autopilot?
Autopilot has become one of the leading copy-trading platforms in the United States, with approximately $1.7 billion in assets connected through the platform and more than 200,000 investors as of July 2026.
The platform is perhaps best known for allowing investors to automatically mirror well-known portfolios, including its popular Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker.
I’m delighted that TiltFolio has now been accepted as one of its investment pilots.
Initially, US investors will be able to automatically follow the same portfolio I recommend on TiltFolio’s homepage and calculator: a 50/50 allocation between TiltFolio Balanced and TiltFolio Adaptive.
I continue to believe this combination represents the strongest overall implementation of the TiltFolio philosophy, balancing long-term diversification with systematic trend following.
Looking Ahead
The newsletter isn’t going anywhere.
Publishing research, explaining portfolio changes, and helping investors understand the reasoning behind each system will remain at the heart of TiltFolio.
But for the first time, investors now have a choice.
You can continue implementing TiltFolio manually, exactly as before, or, if you’re an eligible US investor, you can choose to have the system implemented automatically within your own brokerage account.
When I launched TiltFolio a year ago, I wrote that my long-term ambition was to evolve beyond a newsletter and build a genuine investment product.
Today is the first meaningful step toward making that vision a reality.
